The Tucson GL was the 8th least expensive vehicle to insure with an average annual premium of $1,189. The Tucson GLS ranked 10th with an average annual premium of $1,204. The study used average insurance rates from the six large carriers (Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, Nationwide, Progressive and State Farm) in 10 zip codes per state. Minivans historically carried the lowest insurance rates, but SUVs and crossovers, such as the Tucson, took the top spots in the most recent study, according to
